Mr. Smith, your reason for opposition to discussing CRT is precisely why it needs to be addressed. Let me correct that, discussed and understood what it really is and is not.

As I said, CRT has been around for quite some time. However, since the promotion of the 1619 project, it’s suddenly become a problem. Let me be franker since Donald Trump** and his rabbit pet racist Stephen Miller, the muddying of conversion around race has escalated.

The country’s racism is an undeniable fact and an integral part of the country’s history. Nichole Hanna Jones is not the first individual to speak and write about 1619 or slavery. To know and understand your past is how you can better understand and build your future. But, I agree this can be tricky to engage in, especially if the goal is to use it as a cudgel instead of a pathway for discussion and possible education and understanding. To which I am open to with you if you care to engage.

One last thing. I openly admit to not addressing your issues with the situation you face in your state around BLM, the riots, and the deaths resulting from them. It is deliberate on my part as I am not as well-versed in the situation you have described.

Respectfully,

I am a son, husband, father, and grandfather. I write for them. When not doing that, I’m a Management Consultant and Executive Coach.
